About us

Al-Ansar (The Helpers) is a Faith-Based Organization established in 2004 with the aim of assisting the Less Privilege/Needy through regular visits, possible financial and moral support and fostering of Orphans and also Empowering Widows as the case may be to ameliorate their sufferings. One of our core activities is building Home for Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Constant Public Enlightenment Programs (Training  Widows on Skills Acquisition for Self-Reliance and lectures) on relevant tropical issues as they affect the Orphans/Widows and the General Public.

Al-Ansar built a Home to shelter the teaming Orphans/Vulnerable Children in our Society and beyond at Kuje Area Council, Abuja. The building was funded by Staff of Central Bank of Nigeria through CBN Staff Alms Fund(C-SAF) and the Home is fully Operational since October 1st 2016 with Thirty Four (34) Orphans/Vulnerable Children presently as a pilot project among which are 11 Children from Maiduguri Borno State as our modest efforts in ameliorating the situation in the North-East of Nigeria.

Al-Ansar started two crucial projects since March, 2017 which are still ongoing Al-Ansar Academy and Orphans-Support Programs providing Educational Support Services to Orphans living Outside the Orphanage, over 200 Orphans have benefited from 2016-2022 with 3 of them in the University. We have trained and empowered 220 Widows in their various Skills and Trade over the years.

We started extending help to needy children and youth who were eager to study and work for a better life. This moment intensified when we found that there were many such underprivileged children who needed help with food, shelter and education. Our team expanded and we spread out in different regions to make sure we cover all possible areas and help as many children as possible. We now run shelter homes, schools and a reasonable mess that helps such needy young people. We also have our helpline offices spread throughout the country so one can approach us anytime they need help.

The Messenger of Allah, Prophet  Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, ” I and the up-bringer of the Orphans abide as neighbors in Paradise like this raising by way of illustration his forefinger and middle finger jointly, leaving no space between them “(Saheeh Al-Bukhaari).
