Aisha Buhari Commission Orphanage Home

Wife of the president Aisha Buhari commissioned Al-Ansar orphanage home sponsored by the staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria through CBN staff aims fund. The orphanage is located in Passali kuja area council of the Federal capital Territory. Aisha Buhari who was represented by Hajiya Maryam Salihu, said the project was timely owing to the growing number of widows and orphans occasioned by Boko-haram insurgency. The CBN Governor Godwin Emefelle represented by the apex bank’s director of statistics Sani Doguwa, said the project which gulped the sum of ₦ 24,996,931.028 was part of the staff corporate social responsibility to the immediate community. The Ameerah of Al-Ansar Home Hajiya Amina Abubakar Abdullahi, mni said the center was established with the aim of stopping street begging by widows and orphans and engage them through empowerment programs. She said 140 widows and 240 orphans have been registered with the center and were currently under the care of the orphanage.
